Purchase Kasey Kahne’s Helmet, Support Charity Cars Campaign
04.11.2007

SAN ANTONIO, TX (April 11, 2007) –The Kasey Kahne Foundation has created an exciting new fundraising event to benefit the 2007 Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper Charity Cars Campaign.

The entire group of Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper shareholders, along with hundreds of parts stores and certified service centers, have allied with The Original 1-800-Charity Cars organization (Charity Cars, Inc. a 501-C-3 non-profit charity, FED ID #59-3362703) in a massive project to seek, secure, and refurbish vehicles to be presented to over 500 qualified recipients at grand award ceremonies to be held throughout 2007 in various locations across the nation.

To assist in these efforts, the Kasey Kahne Foundation will auction off the helmet he wore during the March 24, 2007 NASCAR Busch Series race where he took the wheel of the #9 Dodge sponsored by Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper. The helmet Kahne wore is a special, one-of-a-kind scheme, designed by Troy Lee Designs for the running of the Sharpie 300. To make the helmet more appealing and valuable to NASCAR fans, Kahne autographed the helmet after the race. The auction opened on April 9, 2007 as fans began bidding to own this piece of NASCAR history. The proceeds from the auction will go to the Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper Charity Cars Campaign through the Kasey Kahne Foundation.

“What Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper has done for victims of domestic violence has been truly outstanding,” said Kahne. “Sometimes people need a little bit of help in getting back on their feet and the people here at Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper are doing just that. I’m honored that they’ve asked that the Kasey Kahne Foundation be a partner in this cause.”

Bidding is open until 4/19/07 at 10:40PM EDT. Below is a link to the auction site.
